Michael Cowlin LLB (Hons) DipArb DipOSH FCIArb
Michael is a barrister (non practising) and has over 25 years experience in the construction Industry having worked for a number of years for a leading construction contract consultant where he was deputy head of legal services.
Since 1996 Michael has headed MCA Contracts Ltd, representing employers, contractors and subcontractors in adjudication and arbitration proceedings as well as drafting bespoke contracts both in the UK and internationally.
Michael also lectures, is a qualified arbitrator and has conducted training for adjudicators.
Michael co-authored what has become the construction law bible ‘Building Law Encyclopaedia’ and in the forward well known and experienced Construction Arbitrator and Adjudicator Paul Jensen FRICS FCIArb Barrister says this of Michael ‘I have had much experience over the years of competence, industry and integrity of the three authors’
Paul has over 35 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor both in the UK and internationally. Paul has worked for a leading UK and international contractor and several regional contractors where he was appoint Chief Quantity Surveyor and Divisional Manager.
Paul was elected a fellow of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors in 1990 (although no longer a member).
In 2000 Paul established himself as a freelance Quantity Surveyor working for local contractors and subcontractors and formed a informal partnership with Michael Cowlin to assist employers, contractors and subcontractors with their claims and disputes.
Since then Paul has successfully acted for and achieved successfully results for a wide variety of developers, employers, consultants, main contractors and subcontractors, through a mixture or negotiation, mediation and adjudication on all sizes of claims.
Paul still works for a couple of local contractors tendering and final accounts, so that he stays current and relevant.
